The District of Kasese is a rapidly growing region positioned near the magnificent Lake George. Tourists visiting the area enjoy the Queen Elizabeth National Park and ONE30 teams especially enjoy finishing their often strenuous mission trips in this area with a leisurely sunrise water safari at Mweya Safari Lodge.
However, for the residents of the Kasese District, daily life is not as enjoyable or easy. This area is among the fastest growing populations of Uganda; yet, the poverty rate for these households is above the national average. For these reasons, so many children in the district of Kasese are without adequate homes or educational facilities. ONE30 has a goal of providing safe, Christian homes and improved educational systems for the children of Kasese.
In April 2023, thanks to generous donors who visited children living in Kasese and who have a heart to see them have a better future, ONE30 was able to begin the purchase of twelve acres of prime property in Lyemibuza (Kasese District). The land has a wonderful view of Lake George and is perfect for building a school and dormitories for many homeless children.
Local engineers have already drafted proposed plans for the village and we are simply awaiting the funding to complete the project. ONE30 would like to send a SINCERE THANKS to the donors who have made a way for the purchase of this land!
