Mary Precious Kushaba serves as Storytelling and Content Coordinator with ONE30 Network. She is passionate about using storytelling, photography, and creative media to amplify the voices of vulnerable children and remind the world that every child matters.
Raised by a single mother and later moving through several foster families, Mary experienced many hardships throughout her childhood. At just nine years old, she began working as a maid to help pay school fees and meet basic needs. Despite those challenges, she remained determined to pursue her education, earning scholarships that eventually led her to Makerere University, where she studied Education with a focus in English and Literature. She also completed a certificate in Psychology, further strengthening her heart for understanding and supporting children.
Mary’s passion for storytelling was born from her own experiences. Writing became a safe place where she could process her thoughts, fears, and dreams when she often felt unseen and unheard. Today, that same passion shapes her work as a teacher, photographer, writer, and content creator. Through ONE30, she documents and shares the stories of children and communities with compassion, creativity, and dignity. Mary believes every child deserves to be loved, heard, protected, and given hope for a brighter future.
