Faith in Action: Standing Together During the Ebola Outbreak

When health crises emerge, fear can spread quickly. But throughout Uganda, we are witnessing something stronger than fear—we are seeing faith in action. Because of your support, vulnerable children and families are not facing the current Ebola outbreak alone.

As communities navigate uncertainty, our teachers, caregivers, church leaders, and staff continue showing up every day to serve, encourage, and care for children. They are teaching prevention and hygiene practices, monitoring the wellbeing of children and families, providing emotional and spiritual support, and ensuring children remain known, loved, and cared for.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

One of our teachers recently shared:

“All of the students are well and none have contracted it (Ebola). The school continues to follow government procedures to ensure the students’ safety, including consciously washing our hands and avoiding areas where there has been an outbreak.”

For many children, school is more than a classroom—it’s a place of stability, encouragement, and hope.

Your Impact at Work

Because of faithful supporters like you, ONE30 is able to respond when challenges arise. Your generosity helps provide:

  • Health education and awareness training
  • Access to medical care when needed
  • Safe learning environments
  • Nutritious meals and daily care
  • Ongoing support for vulnerable families
  • Spiritual encouragement and discipleship

What may seem like a simple monthly gift becomes a source of hope and stability during uncertain times.

Looking Ahead

While challenges may come, our hope remains unchanged. Out of an abundance of caution and in consultation with local partners and health guidance, ONE30 has temporarily paused all mission trips to Uganda until travel restrictions and health concerns have eased. While we will miss the opportunity to connect in person, our commitment to the children, families, and communities we serve remains as strong as ever.

The good news is that ministry continues. Our local staff, teachers, caregivers, church leaders, and community partners are faithfully serving on the ground every day—providing care, education, encouragement, and hope to those who need it most. Through regular communication, sponsorship, prayer, and financial support, we can continue making a meaningful difference even from afar.

This season reminds us that the impact of our mission has never been limited by distance. Together, we can continue meeting needs, supporting vulnerable children, and sharing the love of Christ while we eagerly look forward to the day we can once again gather face-to-face in Uganda.
